How to Play

  • You have to find the secret word. You have unlimited guesses.
  • After submitting a word, you will see its position among all other words. Lower position means the word is closer to the secret word.
  • The secret word is number 1.
  • The words are ranked using artificial intelligence algorithm according to how similar they are to the secret word.
  • The AI algorithm calculates the similarity between words using the context in which the words are used.
  • The points are given based on the rank of your guess and how fast you find the secret word.

Rank Points(per guess)

  • Rank #1: 10 points (you found the secret word!)
  • Rank #2-10: 5 points
  • Rank #11-50: 4 points
  • Rank #51-100: 3 points
  • Rank #101-500: 2 points
  • Rank #501-1000: 1 point
  • Rank #1001-3000: 0.5 points
  • Rank >3000: 0 points

Speed Bonus (when you find the secret word):

Bonus points based on how fast you find the secret word:

  • 1 guess: 50 points
  • 2-3 guesses: 40 points
  • 4-6 guesses: 30 points
  • 7-10 guesses: 20 points
  • 11-20 guesses: 10 points
  • 21-30 guesses: 5 points
  • 31+ guesses: 0 points

Tip: Every guess earns points based on its position. Even if you do not find the secret word immediatly, you are still earning points for each good guess.

Contexto uses an artificial intelligence algorithm that analyzed large amount of text. It calculates the similarity between your guess and the secret word to assign a rank.

Leaderboard Points = Sum of all points earned from every game played

Example Game:

If you find a word in 5 guesses with ranks [1500, 500, 50, 10, 1]:

  • Rank points: 0.5 + 1 + 3 + 5 + 10 = 19.5 points
  • Speed bonus (4-6 guesses): 30 points
  • Total for this game: 49.5 points

Your leaderboard score accumulates the points from all games you have played.

Yes, A new secret word is available every day at midnight (local time). You can play new game everyday and climb the leaderboard.
Click on the "Play Archive" button and you can choose the game of any previous day.
Sign-in is not required to play the contexto game but it is recommended to save you progress and appear on leaderboard.

If you are logged in: Your game progress is automatically saved that includes all guesses and points. You can continue playing from any device by logging in.

If you are not logged in: Your game progress will not be saved and need to start again. To save your progress and track your statistics, please create a free account.

How to Play Contexto Game?

An engaging word guessing game where you earn points based on your guesses and how fast you find the secret word.

Step 1: Submit Your First Guess

Start with typing any word you can think of and press Enter to submit your guess.

Step 2: Check Your Rank

Your each guess gets a rank that shows how close your guess is to the secret word. Lower rank means your guess is closer. Contexto uses AI algorithm to calculate the similarity between words based on their context.

Step 3: Earn Points

You get points based on your guess rank and how fast you can solve the contexto game. Better guess(lower rank) gives you more points. Additionally, when you find the secret word, you get bonus points based on in how many guesses you found it.

Step 4: Find the Secret Word and Win

When your guesses reach rank #1, you have successfully found the secret word. You will see a winning message and final score on the screen. You can check your overall position on the leaderboard. Come back daily for a new contexto game and improve your position on the leaderboard.
